Frederic Malle Promise is a luxurious niche fragrance from the brand Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle, created by the renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion and released in 2017. The composition belongs to the oriental-floral fragrance family and has a distinctly unisex character. The perfume suits both women and men; however, due to its rich oriental character and deep woody accents, it often reveals itself particularly well on men’s skin. The fragrance was inspired by Middle Eastern culture, where the word “promise” symbolizes a strong bond and honor between people.
The composition opens with a bright and spicy accord.
The top notes feature apple, pink pepper, rosemary, saffron, and clove. The juicy fruity freshness of apple blends with the aromatic greenery of rosemary and the warm spiciness of the spices. Pink pepper and saffron add depth and a subtle sharpness, creating an expressive and intriguing opening.
Heart notes

It combines patchouli, cypriol (nagarmotha), labdanum, castoreum, and ambroxan.
