Van Cleef & Arpels Orchid Leather is a luxurious niche fragrance from the Collection Extraordinaire line by Van Cleef & Arpels. The composition belongs to the oriental leather fragrance family and is distinguished by a rich, warm, and expressive character. The perfume was released in 2021, and its creator is perfumer Julien Rasquinet. It is a unisex fragrance designed for both women and men. Thanks to the combination of sweet, spicy, and leather nuances, it develops beautifully on both, although the warm leather base and smoky accents often give it a slightly more masculine impression.
The composition opens with a rich and slightly gourmand accord.
The top notes feature plum and cardamom. Plum adds a soft fruity sweetness and a subtle liqueur-like nuance, while cardamom brings a warm spiciness and depth. This combination creates an expressive and intriguing opening that gradually prepares the fragrance for a deeper leather character.
At the heart of the fragrance, the central theme unfolds — a leather accord complemented by incense.
